Marsha D. Banks-Harold is the mother of four sons, wife, electrical engineer, and owner of two yoga studios. She understands the challenges of finding balance! Her daily personal yoga practice empowers her to navigate her many roles and clarified her call to become a certified comprehensive yoga therapist. Marsha thrives in sharing the effect yoga has on her life through her intuitive compassionate gifts of providing support for parents, teachers, caregivers, educators, social workers as well as children and adults with special needs. Marsha is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and holds C-IAYT, YACEP, E-RYT-500, RCYT, and RPYT certifications and a BSEE.
Denyse Peterson MS, C-IAYT, ERYT500 is certified fitness professional who provides yoga therapy that builds strength and flexibility in body, mind and spirit. Her holistic practice focuses on aligning physical and emotional wellness to empower clients to find serenity. Denyse’s expertise can help with stress management, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, bone health, insomnia, anxiety and depression. Denyse owns and operates Virginia Yoga Therapy and is a clinic supervisor and adjunct faculty at Maryland University of Integrative Health.
Jeffrey and Andrea are the co-founders of Satsang Yoga in Charleston, SC, facilitated and mentored Jivamukti teacher trainings for many years, teach worldwide, and now offer a teacher training course in Charleston called The Natural Teacher. Known for their uplifting, creative, musical, inspirational, provocative, challenging classes, revealing the mystical depths of the yoga teachings in a relevant, accessible way - these two are a force and you don’t have to be around them long to feel their love of yoga. Jeffrey is a musician, with a band called 'Joy Pilots', an album called 'Blow Horn', and another arriving in fall featuring the single “Sometimes Angels,” an uplifting and rockin’ song that addresses feelings of grief, transformation, healing, and impermanence. Andrea edited and produced the books “An Offering of Leaves," “Sweeping the Dust,” and "Fell in Her Hands." She also created and produced a radio series called "The Depth of Birth," which will become a book, to be released in 2018.
Stuart has practiced various types of yoga over the last 20 years (Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa) but started a strong (daily) practice of Kundalini Yoga in 2004. He has the Kundalini Yoga KRI Level 1 Teacher (200 hour) certification and is Yoga Alliance ERYT-200 certified.
He also is certified Hatha Yoga Teacher (200 hour) and Yoga Alliance (200 hour) certified. Based in Bluemont, VA he teaches 12-15 classes weekly at various locations including private clients and public classes in Reston, Leesburg, and Herndon.
Stuart is an avid Native American Flute player! At the end of each class, Stuart is known to play Native American flute during the relaxation period.
Sue “Sumati” Sedlazek is an RYT 200 Integral Yoga instructor who believes deeply in the healing power of yoga and enjoys sharing the teachings with others. She subscribes to Dean Ornish’s approach to wellness, which includes stress management through meditation and yoga; adherence to a low-fat, whole-plant diet; regular cardiovascular exercise and lots of love! Sue trained at the Satchidananda Ashram where she often returns to continue her studies and deepen her practice. She has also trained in Yin Yoga instruction under the yin-spiring Corina Benner of Philadelphia’s Wake Up Yoga. With much gratitude, Sue leads Hatha and Yin classes for Loudoun County Parks & Recreation as well as after school yoga for elementary-aged children.
Turi Nevin-Turkel, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, C-IAYT is a yoga therapist who specializes in Yin yoga, mindfulness and meditation. Her practice centers on the idea of intentionally deepening the connection with our body, mind, and soul while expanding our eyes to the world around us. Each class focuses on balance and creates stillness, peace, and a sense of well-being that nourishes the body from the inside out. Turi is the founder and director of Turiya Yoga + Wellness where she shares group and private instruction as well as Integrative wellness workshops and retreats.
Anthony Gonzales completed 200 hour and Aerial Yoga training at Yogi Hari’s Ashram in Miramar, Florida. He believes that everyone should have an opportunity to feel good about themselves and encourages students to begin their practice by meeting yourself where you are and allowing the rest to come as it's intended. He himself discovered yoga at a time when everything seemed to be going wrong and shares this story “One day I spotted a sign that read ‘30 days for 30 dollars: New students only’ and I entered that studio for my first Yin yoga class where this all started for me.” Anthony is currently enrolled in RYT 500 Yoga and Ayurveda training at www.sol.yoga.
Vinaya Saunders, (E-RYT 500 CPYT YACEP AP) is a holistic wellness coach, Ayurvedic practitioner, master healer, and founder of yoga style Vinayam (a humble approach to yoga). A mother of four and creator of from infertility to delivery (your little one is waiting...) she works with women to achieve their dream of motherhood. Vinaya wakes each morning inspired to make a difference in other’s lives through her work with seniors, traumatic brain injury and epilepsy clients. She travels to client sites and offers workshops, meditation teacher training and has introduced online yoga and meditation lessons.
Jennifer Topper, RYT-200, has been practicing and teaching yoga for over a decade. Her style emphasizes shifting perspective by creating the space to put other things on hold keeping the focus on oneself. Jennifer is energized by the positive effect of yoga in her life and wants to bring the joy to people of all ages and abilities. She continues her education in numerous styles of yoga including Yin and Vinyasa Flow and is currently enrolled in a RYT 300 program.
Kristi Schwickerath is RYT-200 certified and endured a decade of chronic pain following a car accident before she took her first yoga class. She credits the gentle movement, greater mindfulness, and acceptance of her body and circumstances to her yoga practice. Kristi equates her yoga experience “on the mat” with her improved living “off the mat”. The dramatic shift in her life inspires her to share her experiences and knowledge with others fighting their own unique battles. Kristi has attended specialized workshops in self-myofascial release, Yin yoga, Restorative yoga and 'Props for Props' with Mary Richards, and Yoga Therapeutic Wisdom Workshop with Doug Keller.
Glenn Payne, RYT 200 hours, enjoys practicing and sharing AcroYoga in a way that builds community, encourages communication and inspires personal transformation. His yoga journey started as a bridge between his love of weight lifting and his thirst for triathlons. Actively practicing Ashtanga and various Vinyasa formats, Glenn was drawn to AcroYoga and quickly developed a passion for this “Yoga of Trust”. Glenn has attended AcroYoga trainings thru AcroYoga International in Elemental Beginning, Lunar Therapeutics and Solar Acrobatic Immersions. During his journey, he has also trained with YogaSlackers and Acrogasm.
Leanne Cusumano Roque is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT), a Relax & Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher, and a Certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She loves working with people who have physical limitations, or who may be apprehensive about, or new to, yoga. Her goal is to help students build strength, flexibility, and equanimity while growing intelligence. Leanne discovered Iyengar yoga in 2009 and the tradition and practice has changed her life. She began teaching in 2012 and continues her studies to share the benefits with her students. She is the founder of Yoga 4 All Bodies.
Jami McClellan, 200 RYT, is blessed to have found the practice of yoga and believes that true happiness comes from living in the present moment, not in the past, or future and assures she conveys that in her practice. Teaching brings Jami the ultimate reward and watching her students grow and progress brings her great joy! Strengthening the body’s muscular skeletal system and lengthening the connective tissues can heal injuries, reduce pain and create a lean appearance and youthful outlook. Kim Klemencic, RYT 200 Teacher Training and Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor, began her yoga journey
17 years ago while raising her two young sons. As a student of life, Kim has always been fascinated with exploring new avenues for greater health, awareness and spirituality. Teaching yoga has deepened her practice in unexpected ways and she enjoys creating a welcoming and supportive environment for her students to grow. Kim is passionate about sharing the joy, inner peace and strength that can be achieved through regular yoga practice.
Kelly Armstrong E-RYT 500, YACEP, C-IAYT, is a Certified Yoga Therapist specializing in athletic performance and rehabilitation. She teaches classes and has been leading Yoga Teacher Trainings in Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Kelly has a deep passion for Yin Yoga and encourages mindful exploration into all aspects of the practice with compassion and gratitude. A dedicated student, she's had the honor of studying with many great teachers including Paul Grilley, Bryan Kest, Suzie Curtis, and Desiree Rumbaugh to name a few. Livdhyan Kaur Khalsa is a Level One 200 IKYTA hours certified teacher whose practice of Kundalini yoga has completely transformed her body, personality, and life. She shares this transformative technique with others through a supportive, easy-going teaching style that helps her students relax and get in touch with the beauty of their own soul. Livdhyan has completed ‘four’ of ‘five’ Level Two Certification modules, and is mentoring to become a teacher trainer.
Chris is a certified yoga instructor and has studied under the affiliate Shiva Rea program of Prana Flow with Maria Garre and Julia Kalish. She discovered yoga in 2007 while going through a difficult life situation and quickly fell in love with it. Not only did she find ways to manage stress, Chris found yoga to be physically challenging and mentally balancing as well. After practicing yoga for over one year, Chris decided to take the leap and learn to teach yoga so that she could share the message of the benefits of yoga practice with more people. She started teaching yoga in 2009 and the journey continues to bring peacefulness and joy into her life, which she hopes to share with students.
I fell in love with movement and fitness at an early age, and have been leading health and fitness classes for over
15 years. In 2010 I took my first Vinyasa Flow class, and I was hooked immediately. I loved the connection between breath and movement, how strong I felt physically, and how my practice made me more present in my body and my life. In 2012 I took my 200 hour YTT with Rolf Gates, and became a member of Yoga Alliance. I am also certified in
Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra through Wisdom Method, which adds to my love of teaching and sharing the practice of yoga.
Alyson (eRYT 200 Yoga Alliance Certified) has been a student of yoga for over 10 years and has been teaching
since 2010. She received her vinyasa yoga certification in 2011 from Frog Lotus International and completed an anatomy intensive though ASFYT in New York. Alyson teaches theme-inspired & peak pose driven classes accompanied by skillful alignment cues and lots of smiles!
When she’s not teaching, you can find Alyson practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, playing with her son, or convening with plants. She is currently halfway through an herbal apprenticeship to become a clinical herbalist.

As a Yoga instructor (e-RYT 200, Yoga Alliance), Stevie's training derives from the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya (teacher of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar, and T.K.V. Desikachar). Stevie is currently pursuing her 500-hour certification under the guidance of Prana Vinyasa founder, Shiva Rea. She leads a practice that is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to Vinyasa Yoga with the intent to facilitate an experience whereby the practitioner feels a mental and physical embodiment of flow, pulsating with continual rhythm and reverberation. Yoga is found infinitely beyond movement on the mat -- as the choice to live consciously, with heightened awareness and the courage to be our most authentic self."
Donna Reuss, RYFT-200, began her practice 11 years ago looking for a natural way to manage depression after cancer treatment. Through extensive training in a Korean Tao-based method emphasizing energy movement, she realized renewed stamina, deep emotional release, and a profound spirituality that led to 2017 certification through Yoga Faith, a Yoga Alliance-accredited faith-based program. Donna conducts outreach to support groups and government and community wellness events. Her gentle classes are ideal for seniors and beginners.

Meredith's influences stem from a background in fitness. She grew up riding horses, playing soccer, running cross-country and rowing in a 4-person crew boat. After numerous injuries she turned to yoga as a way to heal & restore. When life took her to Australia she fell in love with various styles of yoga including Baptiste Power Yoga, Ashtanga, Bikram, Yin, Restorative and Jivamukti. She now teaches across D.C and VA and is the founder of WineDown Yoga, a pop-up yoga and events company. She holds a certification with YogaFit in NYC and received her 200-hour Yoga training in Kenya with the Africa Yoga Project. She also holds a level 1 certification in Reiki Jin Kei Do, and numerous other healing modalities including essential oil AromaTouch, Press Re-Set and will soon complete her 300-hour training with Yoga Veda, combining the healing powers of Yoga and Ayurveda in Mexico of this year. During class she builds awareness to our oneness with nature and encourages spiritual growth through pranayama breathing, meditation, visualization and flowing asana (posture) sequences.
Cathy Hansen is a certified Laughter Wellness instructor and finds that shared laughter instantly connects people and creates an amazing energy
for profound healing. She is passionate about introducing the Laughter Wellness experience to those with a desire to have fun and increase their
well-being. Laughter Wellness, led by a Certified Laughter Wellness Instructor, is a series of breathing, stretching, and laughter exercises performed
and enjoyed to improve physical and psychological health. You may not feel giggly at first, but you will end up smiling! Cathy is the owner of
Laugh 'N Live and provides Laughter Wellness facilitation services for corporate training programs, conferences, networking events, yoga
studios, and social groups.
Danielle studied Psychology, Communication and Business at Christopher Newport University. After graduating she obtained a certification in Alignment Based, Therapeutic, Fitness Yoga from Roots Yoga, a Yoga Alliance registered school. She believes yoga restores the biomechanics of the body and reduces stress through movement and increases strength, flexibility, and balance while harmonizing the body, mind and spirit through the breath, postures, and meditation. Yoga is a holistic auspicious practice of self-care manifesting beneficial transformation. Danielle enjoys teaching 7 yoga classes a week and is an avid student! Enthusiasm and passion for the human body radiate throughout her classes.
Colleen McHale is a registered RYT 200 hour Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She offers fun and powerful Vinyasa classes for all levels of practice to enhance mind and body wellness. Experienced with all age groups, from pre-schoolers to adults, her passion is to make yoga accessible to everyone. Lauren Christian is founder and lead teacher of Five Peaks Power Yoga, a hot power vinyasa studio coming to Leesburg this fall. She is committed to fostering a community of healthy, whole and connected human beings by teaching her students to embody the tenants of the Yoga Sutras. A former teacher at Down Dog Yoga Herndon, Lauren has practiced yoga for 18 years, received her 200 Hour Teacher Training Certificate from Down Dog Yoga in 2014, completed Baron Baptiste’s Level 1 training in 2015 and is pursuing her 500-hour Vinyasa certification with Rolf Gates.
Nancy Barbara Montes, a Washington DC native, discovered yoga early in her life. After more than 10 years of
passionate practice, she completed a 200-hour teacher training with Meghan Currie in 2014. Nancy combines her
two passions, yoga and people, in her current position as a freelance Yoga Event Director working the yoga festival
circuit producing yoga festivals around the world.
